Mountain Springs Resort is located in the Southern Georgian Bay region, an area made up of quaint country towns and hamlets in the province of Ontario.

Carefully preserved, the history of the region goes back to the First Nations, pioneers, Samuel de Champlain and the first railroad that contributed to developing Ontario’s premier ski destination. Curious history enthusiasts can visit Collingwood Heritage District, Craigleith Heritage Depot, Meaford Hall and the Nancy Island Historical Site for all the local folklore and exciting facts.

The closeness, of the towns and the unique landscape create the perfect four-season vacation destination. The geography lends itself to a variety of interests, whether it is action packed or quiet and laid back. Blue Mountain is one of the most prominent pieces of the Niagara Escarpment, a natural wonder offering the best skiing in the province. Not far is the longest freshwater beach in the world – Nottawasaga Bay. Outdoor adventurers will enjoy scenic caves, 60 km of marked trails to hike, bike, ski, and run on while the golf aficionado can play renowned golf courses.

Culinary tourists can expect to satisfy adventurous palates. Restaurants appeal to various culinary tastes from fine dining to fast food. In Grey Bruce some of the restaurants are taking it further and creating menus based on locally grown produce, ingredients are picked when fully ripe and most flavourful, so do expect a floating menu.

Agriculturally rich, various farmers markets filled with fresh local produce and artisans displaying their works are part of the local charm. Meaford Farmer’s Market open on Fridays 3 p.m. -7 p.m. and on Sundays 10 a.m. -1 p.m. in Clarksburg during the summer months. Keady Market located in Tara, sells fresh produce as well as livestock and Mennonites selling quilts, maple syrup and furniture.

If you are connoisseur of wine…experience the cool climate wines of Georgian Hills Vineyards. 

Blue Mountain Village, pretty as a picture, quaint yet modern offers over 40 dining and shopping establishments –from local artisans to designer wear. One can also, take to the pond for some ice-skating. 

Activities for the kids are countless, from summer fairs to indoor, outdoor pools, indoor water playground of the Plunge!Aquatic Centre.

Whether you are here for a business trip, family reunion or a romantic getaway, South Georgian Bay is the perfect place to relax, to play or both.
